“Moonlight” is an almost unreal, atmospheric double-canvas mixed-media collage, built with textures, clustered elements, a deep dark background, and a touch of non-conventional painting magic.
Have you ever dreamed of creating your own mixed-media landscape collage?
During this live class, you’ll do exactly that. Step by step, we’ll build layers, textures, and details to create small towns, villages, and gardens — using found objects, everyday materials, and whatever you have on hand. This is where imagination truly gets to stretch its wings!
But that’s not all… This project is all about creating the illusion of moonlight and stars in the night sky. There may be even some light bulbs included, if you wish! Transforming “trash” into “treasure”, building rich layers, and telling visual stories through texture is the essence of my creative style — and I’d love for you to join me on this journey.

“Moonlight” is a large statement piece made on two canvases working together as one, focused on a magical, dark, and subtly metallic look. We’ll explore how to build a dimensional and slightly surreal composition, how to work with contrast and shadow, and how to make your landscape glow — quietly and beautifully.
Explore the techniques, get tips, knowledge, and inspiration
It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore many techniques at once:
- building an unusual, textured composition
- working with dark backgrounds
- creating depth and atmosphere
- using Art Alchemy Paints and Waxes (or suitable alternatives) to develop a rich, moody colour palette
- practicing dry-brushing and finishing techniques that really bring everything to life
The class is packed with product knowledge, composition tips, technical guidance, and plenty of inspiration. It’s a great fit for anyone who wants to go a little bigger with their projects, explore dimensional collage, and experiment with a beautifully dark, metallic aesthetic.

This class is based on one of my most popular in-person workshops — but it goes further. With experience, new products, and fresh ideas, I’ve added new solutions to make it approachable for a wider audience, while still offering something exciting for those of you looking for a creative refresh.
Gain confidence working with media
As always, this class includes my essential techniques and practical tips for planning and creating your project from start to finish. You’ll gain confidence working with a variety of materials from my Art Basics, Art Extravagance, and Art Alchemy lines, including gesso, pastes, gels, and waxes, which play a key role in building the colour and atmosphere of this piece. This project is not only a wonderful introduction to mixed-media techniques, but also a way to create a bold, breathtaking statement piece for your home or studio. And of course, all the techniques you’ll learn can easily be adapted for other projects like home decor, altered objects, or art journals.
What’s the plan
Over the course of two live sessions, I’ll guide you step by step through:
- planning and building a larger-scale composition
- choosing the right elements and textures
- creating a magical landscape with depth and structure
- achieving the final “light” effect that brings everything together
And yes — there will always be space for your own artistic choices, interpretations, and experiments!
Even if the project looks complex at first glance, you’ll see just how doable, flexible, and forgiving these techniques really are once we go through the process together.
As always, I’ll be creating a brand-new project live with you, so you’ll see every important step, decision, and creative nuance in real time.
And if you’ve taken one of my classes before, you already know the vibe. Now you can enjoy it all from the comfort of your own home, with lifetime access to the recordings and resources, so you can revisit and recreate the project whenever you like.
Originally, this class was offered with two live sessions. Both sessions have been recorded, so you can watch — and re-watch — anytime with lifetime access.
Check the PDF supply list for all the suggested materials you might need to create the collage with me.
I hope you’re ready to add a touch of mixed-media magic to long evenings and starry nights.
See you in the classroom!

Finnabair
You might know me as Finnabair, but my real name is Anna Dabrowska-Pekocka, and I’m a mixed-media artist, teacher, coach and product designer.
Transforming and upcycling everyday objects is the cornerstone of my craft; to make this “casual magic” possible for everyone, I develop approachable techniques for all skill levels. Between textures and paint, my love for dimensional artwork shaped my distinctive style. Mix in expressive freedom, awakening a creative spark each person holds inside, and therapeutic, releasing powers of art, and you’ll have a picture of my core values.
What had started as a hobby, in 2011 transformed into teaching in-person mixed media classes with immediate success. In 2013, I established a long-term relationship with one of the top craft suppliers worldwide, Prima Marketing; since then, I have counted myself among the most active and best-known product designers in the mixed-media world. The products I come up withstand out thanks to their distinctive style, which is unique to my brand, and blur the line between craft supplies, home décor, and fine art.
After over ten years on the market, I’m one of the most recognizable and experienced professional teachers in my field. My classes are in great demand, and I continuously strive to deliver the best possible experience and quality to my students. Being able to say that I successfully turned my passion into a full-time job is an incredible feeling.
My mission? To continue this magical, artistic journey, and guide, teach and encourage as many creative souls as I can on their path of self-discovery.
Art is always the Answer.
