Poetry of Patina – Live Collage Session with Finnabair

Transforming “trash” into “treasure”, building layers and textures, and creating eclectic visual stories is the essence of my creative style — and I’d love for you to join me on this journey!

“Poetry of Patina” is a large, beautiful collage on canvas — and it’s all about rust, paint, and the metallic look! This project is a fantastic opportunity to explore many techniques at once: building a dimensional, intriguing composition, using the unique Art Extravagance sets like Rust Paste and Patina Paste (or learning alternatives!), and finishing it all with the gorgeous and popular Metallique Waxes.

This is the third edition of our live online class in the Finnabair Art Studio — and whether you’ve taken one of my “live” classes before or this is your first time joining me online, I’m confident you’ll love this experience!

The class is packed with product knowledge, composition tips, technical advice, and tons of inspiration. It’s a great fit for anyone wanting to go BIG with their projects and explore the world of dimensional collages and a beautifully aged, grungy look.

This class is based on one of my most popular in-person workshops — but it’s more than that! With experience and new products, I’ve added fresh solutions and fun ideas to make it more approachable for a wider audience and exciting for those of you who want a little creative “refresh.”

Poetry of Patina

As always, this class includes my essential techniques and helpful tips for planning and creating your project from start to finish. You’ll gain the confidence and know-how to work with various art supplies, mediums, and tools. Plus, all the techniques you’ll learn can easily be used for other projects like home décor, altered objects, or art journals.

Poetry of Patina

Over the course of two live sessions, I’ll guide you step by step through the basics of composition — focusing on the larger size of the canvas and how to make it all come together beautifully. We’ll talk about choosing elements and the best products for achieving that aged, textured effect. And, of course, there will be space for your own artistic choices, interpretations, and experiments!

Poetry of Patina

Even if the project looks complex right now, you’ll see just how simple, doable, and adaptable these techniques really are once we go through the process together.

As always, in my classes, I’ll create a brand-new, detailed project live with you — so you’ll see all the important steps, details, and creative nuances in real time.

If you’ve taken one of my classes before, you know what to expect. And now, you can enjoy it all from the comfort of your own home, with lifetime access to all the resources — so you can revisit and recreate the project as many times as you like!

Finnabair

You might know me as Finnabair, but my real name is Anna Dabrowska-Pekocka, and I’m a mixed-media artist, teacher, coach and product designer.

Transforming and upcycling everyday objects is the cornerstone of my craft; to make this “casual magic” possible for everyone, I develop approachable techniques for all skill levels. Between textures and paint, my love for dimensional artwork shaped my distinctive style. Mix in expressive freedom, awakening a creative spark each person holds inside, and therapeutic, releasing powers of art, and you’ll have a picture of my core values.

What had started as a hobby, in 2011 transformed into teaching in-person mixed media classes with immediate success. In 2013, I established a long-term relationship with one of the top craft suppliers worldwide, Prima Marketing; since then, I have counted myself among the most active and best-known product designers in the mixed-media world. The products I come up withstand out thanks to their distinctive style, which is unique to my brand, and blur the line between craft supplies, home décor, and fine art.

After over ten years on the market, I’m one of the most recognizable and experienced professional teachers in my field. My classes are in great demand, and I continuously strive to deliver the best possible experience and quality to my students. Being able to say that I successfully turned my passion into a full-time job is an incredible feeling.

My mission? To continue this magical, artistic journey, and guide, teach and encourage as many creative souls as I can on their path of self-discovery.
Art is always the Answer.
